BET Hip-Hop Awards 2021: Tyler, Cardi B And Megan Are Top Winners

Chart-topping rap queens Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion got stiffed at this year’s Grammy Awards — but they got their creative juices flowing again at the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Dynamic “WAP” duo Cardi, 28, and Megan, 26, dominated the star-studded night with a trio of top honors: song of the year, best collaboration and best hip-hop video.

The triple trophy win represented a measure of awards show justice for one of the most influential singles of the year, which broke the record for “most-streamed song” in its first week of release with a whopping 93 million listens.

Meanwhile, hip-hop album of the year winner Tyler, The Creator took home two BET Awards, as did his peers Jay-Z and Lil Baby.

The 16th annual telecast was filled with amped-up live performances from hot new talents, but the night’s standout moment was delivered by a veteran entertainer.

“Hot in Herre” rapper and 2021 I Am Hip-Hop Honoree Nelly, 46, stole the show with an emotional acceptance speech and a “turned up” medley of his greatest hits including “Dilemma” and “Country Grammar.”

Jets Can’t Overcome Slow Start In Loss To Falcons In London

The Jets started slowly and could not come up with one final stop and are taking the long flight home from London with a loss.

The Jets made things interesting in the second half after falling behind by 17 points early, but the Falcons came away with a 27-20 win in front of 60,057 fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Jets fell to 1-4 and now have a bye week.

Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson had another rough game. He missed on some short, easy throws and threw his NFL-worst ninth interception in the game. Offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur did not have any answers to help Wilson out early. The running game was a rumor for most of the day, and the first touchdown came after a 65-yard kickoff return by Tevin Coleman at the start of the second half.

Falcons running back Mike Davis scored a 3-yard touchdown with 2:19 left in the game to ice the win for Atlanta. It was the team’s only points of the second half after putting up 20 in the first half.

The Falcons (2-3) were playing without top receivers Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage, but they did not need them in this one. Pitts, the No. 4 overall pick, had nine catches for 119 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Patterson had 114 total yards, killing the Jets early with both runs and receptions.

Pete Rose Starts A Sports Betting Podcast

Pete Rose is famous for a few things, but there’s one thing that has made him infamous. Pete has a lifetime ban from baseball for gambling on games he was managing in.

Now Pete has launched a new gambling podcast.

“I know how it looks, and people will criticize,” Rose said, via USA Today. “But it’s not gambling. It’s handicapping. I’m a handicapper.”

Pete Rose, of course, received a lifetime ban back in 1989 after an investigation determined that he bet on games, including with the Cincinnati Reds while he was the manager.

Rose’s podcast, “Pete Rose’s Daily Picks” will drop new episodes six days a week.

I guess Pete Rose has finally realized he’s never getting into the Hall of Fame, so why not try to get a piece of the gambling pie.
