Cody Rhodes to Return to the WWE?

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes is reportedly recovering well from his pectoral injury.

Rhodes, who has been out of action due to a torn pectoral muscle since June, is working out, but any upper body weights he uses are extremely light.

Rhodes doesn’t have a set return date, but could possibly be cleared for a surprise Royal Rumble return or for WWE’s Day 1 pay-per-view — which will be held in his hometown of Atlanta.

Rhodes made his WWE return after a nearly six-year absence at WrestleMania 37 in April, becoming the first major All Elite Wrestling star to sign with the company, having also previously served as an executive and a crucial factor in the promotion’s 2019 launch.

The second-generation wrestler is the son of late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes and younger brother of WWE legend and current AEW wrestler/coach Dustin Rhodes, formerly known as Goldust.

Three Players To Join NY Jets Ring of Honor

The Jets will honor three cornerstones of their team from the late 2000s and early 2010s this season.

The team announced that it would induct former cornerback Darrelle Revis, center Nick Mangold and left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson into its Ring of Honor during three separate halftime ceremonies this year.

Mangold was the first to be honored, getting inducted at halftime of the Sept. 25 game against the Bengals at MetLife Stadium. Ferguson will be inducted during the Oct. 30 game against the Patriots. Revis will be inducted on Nov. 27 when the Jets face the Bears.

The trio were extremely popular players and key members of the teams that went to back-to-back AFC Championship games in 2009 and 2010. They will be the first players inducted into the Ring of Honor by the Jets since 2017 when Hall of Fame center Kevin Mawae was honored.

Yankees Season Ends With a Sweep

For the fourth time in the last six years, the Houston Astros are American League champions. Sunday night the Astros finished their authoritative ALCS sweep of the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium (HOU 6, NYY 5). It is the third time in the last six years and the fourth time in the last eight years the Astros have eliminated the Yankees in the postseason.

The Astros were unable to stifle the Yankees’ offense like Games 1-3, and instead had to rally from early 3-0 deficit in Game 4. Starter Lance McCullers Jr. bent but did not entirely break, and the Astros hung around long enough until they could capitalize on another defensive miscue by the Yankees. Houston outscored the Yankees 18-9 in the four games.

The Philadelphia Phillies dispatched the San Diego Padres in Game 5 of the NLCS earlier Sunday, so the World Series matchup is set. It’s Astros vs. Phillies.
