Vikings Beat Jets 27-22

Jets upstart quarterback Mike White nearly led the Jets to a comeback victory, but an interception with 10 seconds left by Vikings safety Camryn Bynum ended the Jets’ upset hopes and gave the Vikings a 27-22 victory.

The Jets fell to 7-5 on the season, hurting their playoff chances. The Vikings improved to 10-2.

The Jets had several chances to win the game late in the fourth quarter, but came up short.

The final chance came when the Vikings punted and the Jets took over at the Minnesota 43 with 1:19 to play. White hit Garrett Wilson for a 18-yard pass that put them at the 19, but the drive stalled there. White threw three straight incompletions and then was picked off at the goal line by Bynum to end the threat.

White completed 31 of 57 passes for 369 yards and two interceptions in the loss, while rookie wideout Garrett Wilson had a career day with eight catches for 162 yards. Another Jets rookie, running back Zonovan Knight, showed out as well, rushing for 90 yards on 15 carries.

Giants vs Commanders Ends in Tie, 20-20

When Graham Gano’s desperation 58-yard field-goal attempt fell far short, the Giants walked off the field at MetLife Stadium with a bizarre and unfulfilling 20-20 tie with the Commanders. The Giants once trailed 10-0 in the first quarter and took a 20-13 lead on Daniel Jones’ 6-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Hodgins with 11:34 remaining in the third quarter. The Giants could not manage to find another point the rest of the way and that ineffectiveness — and at times ineptitude — on offense is what cost them a chance to enhance their playoff aspirations.

The Giants (7-4-1) halted their losing streak at two games and made sure the Commanders (7-5-1) stayed in last place in the NFC East. So there’s that.

Jones completed 25 of 31 passes for 200 yards and was the Giants’ leading rusher with 71 yards. Saquon Barkley scored a rushing touchdown in the second quarter but could not get untracked, rushing 18 times for 63 yards.
