Yankees and Rangers Split Doubleheader

New York won the opener 8-0 behind four RBIs from Austin Wells, but the latter game turned significantly for the Rangers after Cole was lifted following the first out of the sixth inning at 90 pitches with the score tied 1-1.

In the span of about six and a half hours, the Yankees showed flashes of the peak of their powers, a team that could out-talent others all the way to the World Series.

And flashes of what could go wrong along the way for a club that still has holes.

Target To Expand To Astoria, Queens In 2025

Astoria, Queens has been getting an influx of NYC chain businesses recently with previously announced plans of Trader Joe’s, Krispy Kreme, and TJ Maxx also coming to the popular neighborhood.

Target is set to be the newest addition coming in 2025, with plans revealing a three-story retail structure, boasting 97,314 square feet and 175 feet of frontage along 31st Street with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The Target store will provide a variety of households needs, decor, men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, baby and children’s apparel and toys, an adult beverage section, a CVS Pharmacy and Order Pickup, and tech and fitness accessories. NYC shoppers can conveniently hop on express N or local W trains south of 22-11 31st Street at the Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard station to get to this location.

Seattle Mariners Beat New York Mets 4-0

New York (61-56) began the day 0.5 games ahead of Atlanta for the final Wild Card spot, but the Braves snapped their six-game losing streak and are now 0.5 games up on the Mets.

New York’s bats struggled against Mariners starter Logan Gilbert all night long. Francisco Lindor opened the game with a single, but Gilbert then retired the next eight straight Mets through the third.
