Juan Soto Leads Yankees Over Red Sox

After Clay Holmes recorded the final two outs of the top of the 10th, Juan Soto delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the inning to lift the Yankees to a 2-1 win over the Red Sox on Thursday night in The Bronx.

Leading off the inning against Red Sox reliever Josh Winckowski, Soto  shot a line drive up the middle, past the dive of shortstop Trevor Story, scoring pinch-runner Jon Berti from second to give the Yankees their second straight extra-inning, walk-off win.

49ers Crush Jets 32-19

The San Francisco 49ers rolled over Rodgers and the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football” to officially wrap up the opening week of the new NFL season. The 49ers cruised to a 32-19 win at Levi’s Stadium.

Brock Purdy went 19-of-29 for 231 yards for the 49ers in the win. Jordan Mason ran for 147 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. Jauan Jennings had 64 receiving yards on five catches.

Mets Stay Red-Hot With Red Sox Sweep

As a result, the Mets have now won seven straight and are gathering all the momentum at exactly the perfect time. They remain hot on the heels of the Braves for the final Wild Card spot in the National League.  New York is also now a season-high 12 games over .500.

This team appears to be getting red-hot when it matters the most. We should be in for a very fun  Finnish.

Jesse Winker could go down as the best pickup of the entire trade deadline. He’s certainly in the conversation. The one-time Mets nemesis since arriving in Queens has come up with big hit after big hit.

Everything seems to be going perfectly for the Mets right now. Case in point: Kodai Senga could return before the end of the regular season.
