Chiefs are Super Bowl Favorites Over Eagles

Last time, the Eagles entered the game as 1.5-point favorites for the game played in Arizona. This time, the DraftKings opening line has the Chiefs as 1.5-point favorites in Super Bowl LIX, to be played in New Orleans.

In Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles seemed to have the better overall team. As we saw at the time, that doesn’t matter when the Chiefs have quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 218 yards and one touchdown on 16 of 24 passing, while also recording 45 yards and two touchdowns on nine rushing attempts, including a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter. Mahomes connected with wide receiver Xavier Worthy — who finished Sunday’s game with a team-best six receptions for 85 yards — on an 11-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made a 35-yard field goal with 3:33 remaining in the fourth quarter to break a 32-29 tie.

Kansas City stopped Buffalo on its final offensive possession by forcing a turnover on downs with 2:00 remaining in the game, forcing the Bills to use all three of their timeouts on the final drive. The Chiefs will face the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, which took place two years prior.
