The Giants jumped out to a double-digit lead in New Orleans but then turned the ball over on five consecutive possessions in a 26-14 loss to the Saints, who scored 23 unanswered points. The Giants fell to 1-4.

For a brief moment there, it sure looked like the New York Giants had turned a corner. Jaxson Dart, making his second start, had thrown two touchdown passes to establish an 11-point lead over New Orleans early in the second quarter. 

But he Giants had turnovers in virtually every possible way — gift fumbles, bad-idea interceptions — and could only watch as the Saints ran up five straight scores and 23 straight points.

“Five turnovers to zero,” Giants head coach Brian Daboll said after the game, “you’re not going to win in this league.”

And just like that, the brief flash of hope that ran through the Giants organization flickered and went dark. Dart completed 26 of 40 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns, but two interceptions were part of the brutal, repeated misfires that cost the Giants the game

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes revealed his personal list of the top 5 greatest quarterbacks of all-time during an exclusive interview with Complex.

Mahomes had mentioned seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady — whom he faced in Super Bowl LV and shared the MADDEN NFL 22 cover with — and confirmed that he was his top choice.

“Yeah, I mean, you got to say Tom’s 1, but if you talk about the legends of the game, Tom, Peyton Manning, obviously Aaron Rogers, Joe Montana, and then it gets down to Dan Marino or John Elway to round off your top five,” Mahomes.

Mahomes is already considered to be one of the league’s all-time greatest quarterbacks just six years into his NFL career. The 27-year-old is coming off his second Super Bowl victory, having led the Chiefs to three appearances in the past four years and his second NFL Most Valuable Player award, having won twice in five years.

The New York Jets played poorly and fell to 0-4, losing to the Miami Dolphins 27-21 on Monday Night Football.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn came to the Detroit Lions as their defensive coordinator when they hired Dan Campbell to be their head coach. Glenn will have to remind himself that building up the Lions, one of the historically worst franchises in the NFL, wasn’t easy or fast.

It took Campbell a long time to get his first win. The 2021 Lions started the season 0-10-1. Eventually, the Lions became a Super Bowl contender, but it was a difficult process. It’s a lesson that might serve Glenn well this season in his first year as New York Jets head coach.

The Jets are one of the worst franchises in the NFL and one of the worst teams in 2025. They couldn’t even beat an 0-3 Miami Dolphins team on Monday night. The Dolphins won 27-21, though it was costly with Tyreek Hill leaving with a graphic knee injury in the third quarter. But the Dolphins were clearly the better team. That’s not great news for the Jets going forward.
