Trailing early and having lost their last two games, the Green Bay Packers could have been in real trouble when quarterback Jordan Love took a big hit to his left shoulder and jogged inside for further evaluation.

Love returned from the injury to throw two touchdown passes, Malik Willis had one of his own while filling in and the Packers ended their skid by defeating the New York Giants 27-20 on Sunday.

Love provided some heroics on the go-ahead drive in the fourth quarter, finding Christian Watson in the end zone with 4:02 left to take the lead. Love completed 13 of 24 passes for 173 yards.

The defense that had been a strength in recent weeks allowed a first-quarter touchdown for the first time this season and could not stop Jameis Winston and the Giants from going on a 15-play, 85-yard scoring drive to go up 20-19.

With Winston making his first start in 11 months and Mike Kafka debuting as interim coach after the firing of Brian Daboll, the Giants (2-9) lost their fifth game in a row despite two touchdown runs from Devin Singletary and a QB sneak touchdown by Winston. The Giant QB was 19 of 29 for 201 yards and lost a fumble on the final play.

It’s the end of an error in New Jersey. The New York Football Giants have fired head coach Brian Daboll, after yet another inexcusable loss — this time to the Chicago Bears. 

What were the odds of losing games in which the Giants had leads against the Cowboys, Saints, Broncos, and Bears? It proved to be Daboll’s undoing Monday.

After the Giants loss to Denver — in which the team blew a lead in the closing minutes — reports swirled that team owner John Mara wanted to fire Daboll then. But reportedly cooler heads prevailed at that time, and the coach’s job was spared. Yet another loss of that same variety was too much and Daboll was sent packing.

A potential strike that threatened to halt many Broadway musicals has been averted after the musicians’ union reached an agreement with the Broadway League. The American Federation of Musicians Local 802 and the Broadway League, a trade association for producers and theater owners, finalized the deal after an 18-hour bargaining session aided by a mediator. The agreement includes wage increases and enhanced contributions to the health fund, ensuring access to healthcare for musicians.

Local 802 Broadway musicians were thrilled to announce that they reached an agreement with the Broadway League that will avert a strike.

The agreement comes just days after the Broadway League reached a separate tentative contract with the Actors’ Equity Association, the union representing performers and stage managers. The actors’ union’s deal includes a 3 percent salary increase each year over a three-year period, along with increased contributions to their health fund.
