New York Comedy Festival Comes Back

The New York Comedy Festival is back and better than ever.

Organizers announced Monday that Nick Kroll, Bill Maher, Marc Maron, Jon Lovett and more stars will headline this year’s weeklong festival, which will take place in November.

The festival will feature more than 200 comedians from around the world performing over 100 shows across all five boroughs at New York City’s most iconic venues, including the Apollo Theatre, Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Carolines on Broadway, Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden and Town Hall.

“Of all the gigs I missed because of the pandemic, missing this one hurt the most,” said Bill Maher, who will be performing at the Hulu Theater, in a statement. “Thrilled to be back!”

“It’s been a very long and painful time in general and, specifically, for the live event industry,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway.

“We are committed not only to bringing the laughter back to New York City but also to creating opportunities for neighborhood venues across the five boroughs that are the backbone of New York’s comedy scene, which suffered so much during the pandemic.”

Other comedians participating in the festival include Michelle Wolf, Andrew Santino, Colin Quinn and more.

Sure Sign of New York’s Comeback: Dennis Rodman Visits Two Strip Clubs In One Night

Basketball Hall of Famer and always fascinating Dennis Rodman spent Friday night at two strip clubs in Manhattan, enjoying the views first at Hoops Cabaret Sports Bar, and later that night at Rick’s Cabaret.

Hoops Cabaret (48 West 33rd Street) bills itself as “combining the fun of a sports bar with the excitement of a gentlemen’s club,” and there were “Hoops girls” wearing very little clothing performing on stage and doing lap dances across the club’s three floors.

While basketball games were playing on the giant Mega-tron Video Wall, Rodman seemed more interested in the bevy of sexy Hoops girls who were at his table. “He’s legendary,” said Hoops girl Candace. “And I know now that he is really nice and a lot of fun!”

Later that night, Rodman went next door to Rick’s Cabaret (50 West 33rd Street), the city’s top gentlemen’s club, known for the VIP treatment that all guests receive. “The girls all love Dennis Rodman. He is totally unique,” said Rick’s girl Katina.

Nightlife in New York City is making its triumphant return. Surprisingly, Dennis Rodman and strip clubs are showing the way.

NY Giants Blown Out By The L.A. Rams 38-11

The New York Giants fell to 1-5 on Sunday with a lopsided 38-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at MetLife Stadium. The Giants have now started 1-5 four of the past five seasons. The Rams are 5-1.

Under heavy pressure consistently, Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones had two strip-sack fumbles, losing one, and threw two first-half interceptions. Two of the Rams’s second-quarter touchdowns came on drives 12 and 14 yards after Giants’ turnovers.

“Obviously it wasn’t good enough today,” said head coach Joe Judge.

Daniel Jones was absolutely bad, completing 29-of-51 passes for 242 yards and throwing three interceptions. He entered the game without receiver Kenny Golladay and running back Saquon Barkley and he lost electric rookie Kadarius Toney on the first series. Also, his offensive line offered him very little support.

The Giants defense wasn’t any better either. But after a brief flash of a pass rush, they barely bothered Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford who became the latest to pick apart the Giants’ crumbling secondary. He ended up completing 22-of-28 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns.
