Shark Tank Star Gets CNBC Show

“Shark Tank” star Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary (and his defining black suit) is hosting a new six-part series on CNBC.

“Money Court” features the straight-shooting O’Leary ruling on family financial disputes via Zoom, flanked by veteran trial attorney Katie Phang and Ada Pozo, a former trial attorney, public defender and judge.

“I think it really is a snapshot of life,” O’Leary, 67, said. “Everybody sees themselves in these cases — everybody’s got that uncle, that sister, that brother who borrowed money from them and never paid it back.

“There’s so much talk about marriage being a business, and that’s true…but when you’re supporting a family in a family business it gets more complicated,” he said. “One of the reasons marriages break up — and it’s the same for family businesses — it’s not infidelity, it’s financial pressure. One member of the family outspends the others or goes into bankruptcy or does something financially that puts a tremendous stress on the family and that severs that relationship.”

O’Leary, Pozo and Phang hear three cases on each episode of “Money Court,” listening to both sides of a dispute. They break to discuss the cases, then O’Leary delivers his final verdict. The parties involved must adhere to his ruling.

Broncos Roll Over Jets 26-0

The New York Jets were shut out by the Denver Broncos on Sunday in an embarrassing performance, falling to 0-3 on the season for the third year in a row.

The Jets didn’t just fall to 0-3 on Sunday with a loss to the Broncos in Denver. New York was embarrassed, manhandled and blanked.

Rather than taking a step forward from the building blocks that this team has displayed through the first two weeks of the season, the Jets showed just how far they have to go, falling 26-0 in a drubbing at Empower Field at Mile High.

From start to finish, Gang Green was outclassed. There were brutal penalties, unacceptable unforced errors and glaring weaknesses. Poor play calling, an absent running game, drops and a quarterback under siege kept this offense from finding any rhythm. On the other side, an inexperienced secondary was torn apart by Teddy Bridgewater and the Broncos offense.

Street Renamed For Yankee Great Whitey Ford

It’s another win for Whitey Ford!

The late, great Hall of Fame Yankee pitcher out of Astoria, Queens, was celebrated Saturday afternoon with a neighborhood street renamed in his honor.

Friends, family and elected officials beamed as 43rd Street between 34th and 35th avenues was co-named Edward Charles “Whitey” Ford Way.

Nicknamed “The Chairman of the Board” for remaining calm under pressure, Ford was raised in Astoria and spent his entire 16-year MLB career with the Bronx Bombers on his way to becoming a 10-time All-Star and six-time World Series champion.
